Northeastern University (NU) is a private research university that was established in Boston, Massachusetts in 1898. The Boston based university has a further four regional campuses, one being in Silicon Valley. In this case, the Project 100 team worked with the Silicon Valley campus to help promote what their facility can offer potential students.
Each year, staff at the Silicon Valley campus come together to present how their work is impacting their student's lives. Ultimately, this event aims to open up opportunities to gain exposure by working with the primary campus in Boston. Project 100 were put to task in to create an infographic that fit this year's theme 'Teaching to Transform'. This needed to be completed through illustration to present how the Silicon Valley campus is 'Teaching to Transform'.
Through brainstorming and collaboration with the client, the team chose to incorporate the benefits of the campus's location. Being based in Silicon Valley, students have the advantage of bridging what they've learned and applying it to the real world through opportunities with tech giants and startups. Furthermore, the client presented the criteria of a Mario game concept to illustrate how as educators they aid students in their academic and professional growth. Thus, an infographic was developed through the game concept, the benefits of Silicon Valley, and how that related to the 'Teaching to Transform' theme. link text
